Hi,
What a wonderful blog site, I was encouraged by your first blog where you wondered if you could do this ‘blogging thing’. I’m exactly at that point now and thinking I really want to start but still blundering along and haven’t hit the ‘start’ button yet. I am an amateur historian also and started on the family tree about 30 years ago, but I am also a GIS officer and so love mapping. I live in North Queensland, Australia and do mapping for small mineral exploration companies, so the first step is to start with the mining history of the area and produce maps from the results. That’s what I would like to centre my blog around, mapping the activity of the pioneers of the North Queensland area.
Your comments have spurred me on, thanks so much, good luck with your research and I’ll follow your ‘story’
Regards
Leigh
Please forgive me for taking so long to reply to your kind comment! Thanks so much for following my blog, even though I have been taking so long to post lately. Hopefully I’ll keep up better in the future.
Your job sounds so interesting! I’m sure your mapping contribution would be most welcomed by the genealogy world and other historians, as well. Please let me know when you get going, as I will love to “follow” you.
